KSCHMA Rapid Response Team Coordinates Specialist Orthopedic Care for Three Vulnerable Patients

The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), through its Rapid Response Team (RRT), has recorded another milestone in emergency medical intervention by facilitating specialist orthopedic care for three vulnerable patients at Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, Kano.

The interventions were carried out under the directive of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, as part of the Agency’s commitment to ensuring that vulnerable residents receive timely access to quality healthcare services irrespective of financial constraints.

One of the beneficiaries, Yusuf Isah, who sustained a severe leg injury in a road traffic accident, successfully underwent a life-saving leg amputation after specialist evaluation confirmed that the procedure was necessary to save his life and prevent further complications. He is currently recovering under close medical supervision.

Similarly, Khalid Auwalu successfully underwent a complex orthopedic reconstructive procedure on his leg. Following the successful surgery, he is recuperating steadily under the close supervision of specialist medical personnel.

Meanwhile, Abubakar Adamu has been admitted to Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital after completing all required clinical assessments and diagnostic investigations. He has been scheduled for a specialist orthopedic surgical procedure and remains under close medical observation pending surgery.

Speaking on the intervention, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, reaffirmed KSCHMA’s commitment to providing timely emergency response, effective referral coordination, and sustained follow-up for patients requiring specialist care.

She stated that the interventions reflect the healthcare vision of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, under the Kano First Agenda, which prioritizes accessible, equitable, and people-centered healthcare while ensuring that no resident is denied life-saving treatment.

Dr. Rahila also commended the Zonal Medical Director of Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital, Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, for his unwavering support to the KSCHMA Rapid Response Team and his commitment to strengthening emergency referral services and specialist healthcare delivery across Kano State.

KSCHMA will continue to monitor the progress of all three patients to ensure successful treatment outcomes and full recovery, reaffirming the Agency’s dedication to restoring hope through responsive and compassionate healthcare interventions.
