As the demand for organic food products increases across the globe, Dantata Foods and Allied Products Company Limited is set to support small holder farmers to adopt the new techniques of regenerative agriculture.
The Food Processing giant has launched a community engagement with farmers and traditional leaders to pilot the new initiative in Bebeji Local Government of Kano state.
Speaking at the Palace of Babeji District Head, the Company’s General Manager Corporate Services Alh. Sunusi Bature said the advantages of regenerative agriculture include improving biodiversity, soil moisture retention, carbon sequestering and produces healthy foods for human consumption.
He said the increase in demand for organic food products worldwide attracts premium prices and increase incomes of the small holder farmers who grow their produce through the regenerative agriculture.
Responding on behalf of the farmers, the village head of Tariwa community Sarkin Fulani Malam Suleiman M. Lawan, expressed their readiness to participate in the regenerative agriculture scheme and appreciated the company for choosing Bebeji as the pilot location in Kano State.
