The need for health workers in the state to always appear in their working uniforms during official hours has been emphasised.
The Director General Kano State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Nasiru Alhassan Kabo, dropped the hint when he led the directors and other management staff of the Board to supervise the hospitals under Zone 11.
Hospitals under the Zone include Hasiya Bayero Paediatrict Hospital, Imam Wali General Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital, Sabo Bakin Zuwo Maternity Hospital, Imam Halliru Memorial Hospital, Marmara Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Goron Dutse Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
Dr. Kabo said that health workers should bear in mind that appearing neatly dressed while on duty is part and parcel of their professional ethics, stressing that It is the uniform that will identify you as health worker whom patients can seek succour from. Therefore, all Chief Medical Directors should make sure that their staff are coming to work neatly dressed at all times.
The Director General appreciated the turnout of staff doing their scheduled activities and urged them to maintain the tempo as the present administration places serious consideration on workers discipline especially coming to work and off at stipulated time.
He eulogised Governor Ganduje for giving kind attention to health sector in the state through renovation, upgrading and procurement of modern equipments, noting that the achievements government recorded so far is unprecedented in the history of Kano state.
Dr. Kabo directed Chief Medical Directors of the hospitals to make judicious use of the resources available at their disposal to carry out some minor projects that will always keep their respective hospitals into proper shape upon the approval of the Zonal Directors.
He then implore people close to hospitals to continuously join hands with hospitals management to look at areas where they can come in and render assistance so as to complement efforts of the Ganduje administration of transforming the state health sector with aim to reach the universal health coverage, commending hospitals friends for their up and doing in aiding the facilities whenever the need arises.
