Hamza Baba, the newly appointed Special Assistant to Rt. Hon. Speaker of FHR on IDPs

Born in Dawakin-Tofa, Kano, Northwest Nigeria, Hamza Ibrahim Baba is a very passionate person in supporting the socially excluded groups and underserved population with special interest in Almajiri reforms, IDPs resettlement and integration. He Studied Microbiology from Bayero University kano, Masters in Healthcare Management from Benue State University Makurdi and bagged his MBA from University of Ilorin.

Hamza started his career with Jawa Pharmaceutical Limited in 2002 as medical Sales Rep and later as Manager Sales covering 5 States of Northwest. He worked with Ranbaxy Pharmaceutical as manager Sales North in 2010 before joining Royal Exchange Healthcare a National HMO as Manager Network between 2010-2012. He joined Songhai Health Trust one of the leading Health Maintenance Organisation in 2012 as Senior Manager Marketing and Operations and presently is the Principal Manager Marketing and Business Development of the company.

Hamza is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Environmental and Public Health Mgmt, Lagos. He is a Full Member Institute of Healthcare Finance & Mgmt, Lagos, a Full Member Nigeria Society for Microbiology (FMNSM) and an Associate Member Institute of Health Insurance and managed Care of Nigeria.

He has Interest in Universal Health Coverage, Healthcare Financing and Healthcare management and operations

Hamza was a member APC Presidential Campaign Council Contact&Mobilisation Directorate 2015, Head of Domestic Monitors, Buhari Support Organisations (BSO) 2015 and also a member APC Presidential Campaign Council Contact&Mobilisation Directorate as well as Buhari Support Groups Directorate 2019.

He was a member of Media and Publicity Subcommittee of the just concluded 2019 Presidential Inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term under the chairmanship of Hon Minister Lai Mohammed.

He is a humanitarian to the core as the two NGOs he co-founded and leading as Chairman Board of Trustees : Foundation for Almajiri Child Development (FACD) and Vendors for Positive Change Initiative VPCI focus on Reformation of Almajiris and IDPs management respectively.

He is married with children.
