Kano to pass Health Security Bill Soon – Health Commissioner

At the opening remark of a 2-day workshop for KSCHMA Marketing Strategy Development, which was organized by Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency with Support from USAID Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project, Nigeria taking place at Bafra International Hotel, Kaduna, the Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf appreciates the participant of the workshop for sparing their valuable time to make it to the event.

He further congratulates the management of KSCHMA especially the Executive Secretary Dr. Rahila Mukhtar for making the event a reality, the Honourable Commissioner also appreciates other heads of agencies present at the event for their support to all KSCHMA activities; He added that developing KSCHMA Marketing Strategy is aimed at expanding enrollee coverage especial through the informal sector, which include the organized private sector;

Dr. Labaran further said that “I will like to use this opportunity to tell you that the Kano State Health Security Bill is at the House of Assembly and has passed 2nd reading and will soon be passed completely”, the bill when passed and signed into law, it will improve disease detection and response and provide dedicated and sustainable budgetary allocation and releases for epidemic preparedness and response in the State.

The Honourable Commissioner, finally appreciates the partners present at the event for their noble support towards the success of the exercise. He calls on politicians to come to KSCHMA and embrace the Vital Plan, that is to enroll at least 10 persons each for the period of one year, which will cost them only N120,000 Naira only.
