The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has intensified its healthcare quality assurance and monitoring efforts with an on-the-spot assessment of Karmami Primary Health Centre and Zakirai General Hospital in Gabasawa Local Government Area.
The visit forms part of the Agency’s ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare service delivery, enhancing beneficiary satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with standards governing the implementation of contributory healthcare programmes across Kano State.
The KSCHMA delegation was led by Aminu Ahmad Turaki, who represented the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar. During the exercise, the team engaged with healthcare personnel, facility managers, enrollees, and community stakeholders to assess service delivery and obtain firsthand feedback from beneficiaries.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Aminu Ahmad Turaki reaffirmed KSCHMA’s commitment to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services in line with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Kano First Agenda.
He noted that regular supervision and stakeholder engagement remain critical to improving healthcare outcomes, strengthening accountability, and ensuring that healthcare facilities continue to meet the expectations of beneficiaries.
“The wellbeing of our enrollees remains our top priority. Through continuous monitoring and engagement with providers and beneficiaries, KSCHMA is committed to identifying gaps, strengthening service delivery, and ensuring that every enrollee receives quality healthcare services without financial hardship,” he stated.
The assessment focused on service quality, patient satisfaction, availability of essential medicines and commodities, facility operations, and adherence to healthcare standards. The team also received feedback and recommendations from enrollees and healthcare workers aimed at improving service efficiency and patient experience.
KSCHMA emphasised that findings from the visit will guide ongoing interventions to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve accountability, and enhance the performance of accredited healthcare facilities across the state.
The Agency remains committed to working closely with healthcare providers, community leaders, and development partners to advance Universal Health Coverage and deliver on the healthcare aspirations of the Kano First Agenda.
