The Armed Forces Specialist Hospital (Gamji), Kano, has paid a strategic engagement visit to the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) as part of efforts to be accredited as a healthcare service provider under ABBACare and other KSCHMA healthcare programmes.
The hospitals delegation was received on behalf of the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, by the Director of Programmes, Dr. Jamila Mustapha, who reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to expanding access to quality, affordable, and specialized healthcare services through a robust network of accredited providers across Kano State.
The Commander of the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital (Gamji), Brig. Gen. A. A. Omogbethai, a colorectal specialist, was represented at the engagement by Lt. Lawal, Head of Records, who conveyed the hospital’s readiness to meet all accreditation requirements and its commitment to partnering with KSCHMA as a service provider under ABBACare and other Agency schemes.
He further expressed the hospital’s strong interest in strengthening specialized care delivery, particularly for vulnerable groups including persons living with Sickle Cell Disease under the ABBACare Scheme, through continuous, comprehensive, and quality healthcare services.
The delegation highlighted the hospital’s clinical capacity, skilled medical personnel, and healthcare infrastructure, noting its readiness to contribute meaningfully to improved health outcomes for beneficiaries across KSCHMA programmes.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Jamila Mustapha commended the hospital’s interest in joining the KSCHMA provider network and emphasized the Agency’s commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery.
She reiterated that all prospective service providers must undergo a rigorous and transparent accreditation process to ensure compliance with KSCHMA’s quality assurance and operational standards.
As part of this process, KSCHMA has scheduled an assessment visit to the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital (Gamji) on 24 June 2026 to evaluate its readiness for inclusion in ABBACare and other KSCHMA programme provider networks.
The engagement reflects KSCHMA’s continued drive to strengthen healthcare delivery through strategic partnerships with reputable health institutions, in line with its mandate to expand access to quality and equitable healthcare services across Kano State.
