The Executive Secretary Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar disclosed this today while receiving the exco of Kano State Sickle Cell Awareness Initiative and that of Kano State Sickle Cell Club in her office.
Dr Rahila stressed that working closely with healthcare providers to develop unique care plan and establishing strong relationships with haematologist and other specialist as well as keeping in touch with them as often as needed, routine checkups, can help prevent serious problems to people with sickle cell disease.
Dr Rahila further mentioned that ABBACare initiative is aimed at focussing sickle cell disease management, prevention and treating pain episodes, and complications.
In their separate remarks, the President of Kano State Sickle Cell Awareness Initiative Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa and Chairman Kano State Sickle Cell Club Aminu Sabitu expressed their gratitude to Dr Rahila for her unwavering commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, hope and encouragement given to affected people living with sickle cell disease. Adding that, the ABBACare scheme has brought significant changes into their lives by providing quality sickle cell medication to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
In recognition of her outstanding performance in actualizing the initiatives of ABBACare scheme by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the two associations presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar
Also, a letter of appreciation was presented to the Executive Secretary KSCHMA Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar on behalf of the community and families affected by sickle cell disease in Kano by the Founder and Senior Vision Director, Sustainable Innovation and Development Solutions (SIDES) Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi.
Dr Sufi said that Dr. Rahila’s leadership and commitment towards improving access to quality healthcare services, essential care has been provided and hope has been restored to those affected by sickle cell disease.
“I’m humbled to have acknowledge and received this outstanding Awards with humility and gratitude to Almighty” Dr Rahila said.
