In an exclusive interview during the 2023 World Cancer Day Commemoration, which took place on Saturday , 11th February 2021 at Meena Event Centre; the founder of Save a life Cancer Awareness & Support Network (SALCASUN) Hajiya Hauwa Kakudi mentioned about how they came to being as well as some of the fast activities they had with regards to creating awareness on breast and cervical cancer, she congratulates His Excellency the Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for successful commissioning of Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje Cancer Centre; she added that the project is going to go a long way in making sure that, the gap is being closed in Cancer care and the inequities that that exists in the Cancer care
Earlier during the event, Professor Hadiza Shehu Galadanci who is the Director for African Centre of Excellence for Publishing Health and Policy, Bayero University Kano stress the importance of closing the Gap of Cancer Care, which is actually the Theme of this year’s Cancer Day, that is creating more and more awareness on Breast Cancer and Cervical Centre; how would people know they have early cancer, because cancer is early it can be treated and you can also screen yourself so that you prevent yourselves from getting it; you can only do this when you are aware of it, so this the reason why this progromme
