His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) today reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritised infrastructure development in the state.
Matawalle made this known today when he received Kungiyar Matawalle Gida-Gida to a solidarity visit at his residence in Gusau.
Governor Bello Matawalle said his administration is determined to construct more township roads and houses especially in Gusau the state capital in order to expand the town and expose it to more economic activities and growth.
He further said that Gusau being the State capital, needs more infrastructure pointing out that the town has been left behind when compared with other State capitals.
Governor Matawalle added that his government is now prioritising the provision of modern infrastructure that have upto date architectural designs for the State capital to expand.
He explained that Zamfara as the only state without an Airport in the country seems to be lagging behind as facilities like an Airport are among the indices of rating development.
He maintained that if an Airport is constructed in the state, a lot of economic activities will be created as export and import will be enhanced through the air transportation.
The Governor also commended the foresight of the leadership of Matawalle Gida-Gida for the solidarity visit and urged them to intensify efforts in enlightening the public about his Government’s policies and programmes especially the peace process initiated by his administration.
He promised to sustain the peace process as currently being enjoyed by all citizens of the State and called for the continued prayers in that direction.
Earlier in his address, leader of Matawalle Gida-Gida, Alhaji Lawali Lala said they formed the Association in order to create more awareness on the giant strides of Governor Matawalle in the areas of Security, Education, Health and Economic Empowerment so as to attract more support to the government for it to succeed in taking the state higher.
He added that the Association is a political in nature, the one that will support his administration in many areas because it is an Association of like minds that came together for the purpose of developing Zamfara State educationally, socially and economically.
Alhaji Lawali Lala informed the Governor that his Association has secured a piece of land for the construction of a School and an orphanage home which will be named after the late Mother of Governor Matawalle, Hajiya Safiya for the purpose of training orphans and the less privileged children in the State.
The courtesy call was attended by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru,State Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha, Former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ahmed Anka and former Speaker, Alhaji Bature Umar Sambo among others.
