ZAMFARA: MATAWALLE TO EMPOWER ZAMFARA TRADERS ASSOCIATION WITH 700 MILLION NAIRA.

His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) will empower the State Traders’ Association with the sum of 700 Million Naira next month to boost their businesses.

The Governor made this revelation today when he received Zamfara State United Traders Association under the leadership of Alhaji Balan Vice to a solidarity visit at Government House, Council chamber,Gusau.

Matawalle said his administration’s determination is to empower the State business community through the provision of loans that are interest free so that small and medium businesses can prosper.

The Governor further said that part of his administration’s economic growth policy is the N700 Million Naira empowerment offer to the State Traders explaining that each of the 14 local government chapters of the Traders Association will receive 50 billion Naira next month that will be distributed to its members for the purpose of developing the State business community for it to excel.

Matawalle added that he is currently at an advanced level of discussions with the Bank of Industry on how to secure a loan for the State traders in order to make them benefit from the federal government’s business intervention to small and medium enterprises.

He also reiterated his administration’s determination to use the local contents in all the State contracts in order to boost the state’s economy and make a lot of people benefit from it.

Governor Matawalle also described encouraging economic activities as the only way of sustaining the relative peace being enjoyed in the state and urged the traders to create more businesses that will provide jobs maintaining that his administration is ready to support the actualisation of any economic project that will have direct impact on the economic development of the State.

The Governor urged the traders to fashion out modalities on how to disburse the funds and use it judiciously for the economic prosperity of the State.

He also donated two brand new 18 seater buses to the Association.

Earlier in his speech the State Chairman of the Traders Association, Alhaji Balan Vice said they were at the Government house to register their solidarity to the administration of Governor Matawalle and to also congratulate him on the remarkable achievements he has recorded in the areas of economic development activities and restoration of peace within a very short time of his administration.

The chairman further assured that the association will regularly offer useful advises and suggestions for the administration to succeed economically and in other sectors.

He called for the reorganisation of the State Poverty Alleviation directorate ZAPA with a view of providing soft loans to the traders in the state through the creation of Government special intervention loans to the State business class.

The courtesy call was attended by the Chief of staff Government House, Col Bala Mohammed Mande and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Barr Sani Nasarawa among others.
