Abductors demand N50 million ransom for two Katsina councillors

The abductors of the two supervisory councillors of Safana local government area of Katsina state have demanded N50m ransom for their release, Daily Trust reports.

The councillors, Hussaini Wanzam (finance) and Bishir Dan Jikko (water and sanitation) were whisked away on their way to Batsari town after close of work.

Sources privy to the development confided in our reporter that they have reached out asking for N50m for their freedom.

The source said, ‘We spoke and still talking with them and this was what they demanded when they called last night’.

Already the police said they are working hard to secure their release, according to the spokesman to the state police command, SP Gambo Isah.
