The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has successfully enrolled 1,038 newly recruited staff of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) into the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Scheme, reaffirming the commitment of the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to ensuring quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare for public servants across the state.
The enrolment exercise, conducted for the newly recruited personnel under the Ministry of Agriculture, represents another significant milestone in the State Government’s drive towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) while strengthening social protection for its workforce.
Representing the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, the Director of Administration, Hajiya Amina Sani Usman, described the enrolment as a strategic investment in the health and wellbeing of the state’s workforce. She stated that providing newly recruited employees with immediate access to healthcare services through the Contributory Healthcare Scheme reflects Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare.
Hajiya Amina noted that the Scheme offers beneficiaries financial protection against the high cost of healthcare while guaranteeing access to quality medical services through KSCHMA’s network of accredited healthcare providers across Kano State.
She reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to working closely with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to expand health coverage for all eligible public servants and their dependants, in line with KSCHMA’s mandate of ensuring equitable access to healthcare.
The Director of Administration also commended the Kano State Government for prioritising the health and wellbeing of its workforce, noting that a healthy workforce is fundamental to improved productivity and sustainable socio-economic development.
She encouraged the newly enrolled KNARDA staff to make effective use of the Scheme by accessing healthcare services at accredited facilities whenever the need arises.
The successful enrolment of the 1,038 newly recruited KNARDA staff further demonstrates KSCHMA’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare and advancing the vision of “One Voice, One Health, One Future” for the people of Kano State.
