The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, has reaffirmed the Agency’s unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and sustaining innovative health reforms across Kano State through strategic partnerships and expanded access to contributory healthcare services.
Dr. Rahila stated this while participating in the Accelerating the Expanded Adoption of RMNCH Innovations and Health Reforms in Kano State (AEARI) Project Learning and Dissemination Meeting, held on Tuesday at Tahir Guest Palace, Nasarawa GRA, Kano.
The high-level meeting convened representatives of government institutions, development partners, healthcare managers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders to review the achievements, lessons learned, and impact of the AEARI Project in advancing reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCH) services across Kano State.
The forum served as a platform for stakeholders to showcase best practices, share success stories, and exchange innovative approaches that have contributed to strengthening healthcare service delivery. Deliberations also focused on strategies for institutionalizing project gains and ensuring their sustainability beyond the project’s implementation period.
Speaking on the significance of the engagement, Dr. Rahila emphasized that sustained collaboration among government institutions, development partners, and healthcare providers remains critical to achieving Universal Health Coverage and improving access to quality, affordable healthcare for all residents of Kano State.
She reiterated KSCHMA’s commitment to supporting evidence-based policies and initiatives that promote equitable access to healthcare, particularly for vulnerable populations, while strengthening the state’s contributory healthcare system through strategic partnerships and innovation.
The meeting featured presentations highlighting the AEARI Project’s implementation journey, key milestones, achievements, documented impact, and lessons learned, alongside panel discussions on institutionalizing RMNCH innovations within Kano State’s health system.
Participants concluded the meeting by adopting key action points aimed at sustaining the project’s achievements, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and accelerating progress towards a resilient and people-centred healthcare system.
The participation of the KSCHMA Executive Secretary further underscores the Agency’s strategic role in driving healthcare reforms and advancing the Kano State Government’s vision of ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every resident through a sustainable contributory healthcare system.
