The state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Saleh Tafida announced this during a meeting with leadership of Miyetti Allah and farmers associations as well as stakeholders in Guri.
CP Aliyu Saleh Tafida warned herdsmen to avoid carrying dangerous weapons while rearing their animals and farmers to desist from encroaching cattle routes and reserves for peace and tranquility to prevail in the state.
He warned that the state Police Command and other security agencies would not hesitate to arrest anybody found violating law and order.
Earlier the chairman of Guri local government council, Alhaji Musa Shuaibu Muhammad advised farmers and herdsmen to embrace peaceful coexistence being partners in progress. He also advised traditional rulers and relevant stakeholders in the area to complement governments effort by enlightening their subjects on the importance peace which he described as the bedrock for development.
Jigawa state Police to deploy more troops to Guri and Kiri-Kasamma LGAs to forestall farmers/herdsmen conflict.
