Northern insecurity: End it now before it consumes us all – Chizo Germany

By Iro Musa, Kano

Germany based Nigerian artist Haruna Salisu also known as Chizo Germany has called on Nigerian security operatives to step-up and end the insecurity that is threatening to consume the north.

Speaking to solacebase, the young artist who was born on 1st June 1995 at Tudun Wadan Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, had began his sojourn into what is known todays as the entertainment industry while he was residing in Kano.

He also had his conventional education in Kano and had also attended Islamic schools in both his home town Zaria and Kano respectively.

After venturing into Music and other entertainment activities, the zealous artist traveled to Germany in search of a greener pasture. However before his departure he had made his debut in a song titled Sarka Zancen Banza, which fortunately become very popular.

According to Chizo, it is unfortunate that, the North which occupies about 70% of the land mass of the country; has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the country according to World Bank report of 2001, and also has the lowest rate of child enrolment in schools, highest number of unemployed young people in the country, highest levels of poverty as compared to the other parts of the country.

These he said are enough to bring the region down, stressing that coupled with the increase in insecurity in states like Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and other places the region is indeed in dare need of urgent intervention to end the insecurity challenges before it consumed the entire region.

“Government should improve the standard of living of the people through creation of more entrepreneurship centers across the country, most especially in the North and North-eastas well as intensify fight against corruption through good legislation and stiff penalties for those found wanting. The Nigerian judicial system should also be strengthened through routine independent checking mechanism. Judges should be monitored closely while dispensing cases to ensure that laws are applied to all in a fair, reasonable and understandable manner,” he said.
