Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) has reiterated his administration’s determination to explore more developmental programmes that will consolidate the State peace process initiated by his government.
The Governor made this known today when he received the regional representative of the Universal Peace Federation, Africa Region, Rev George Ogurie at a courtesy call in his Abuja residence.
Governor Matawalle said his administration is determine to explore more economic development programmes that will consolidate the peace process of the administration in order to engage the repentant bandits through various economic ventures especially agriculture.
He added that f the peace so far achieved is consolidated through economic emancipation, the process will be a sustainable one.
Matawalle also informed the regional representative that his administration has commenced the construction of three Ruga settlements in the State with a view of engaging the Fulani herders and providing a direction for them by stocking the settlements with Western and Islamic schools among other basic facilities.
He also promised to engage the expertise of the peace Federation in the area of peace for it to be sustained in the state.
Earlier in his address, the Regional representative of the Universal Peace Federation Africa Region, Rev George Ogurie said they were at the Governor’s residence in order to congratulate him for the positive changes he has brought to Zamfara State Securitwise in particular in order to encourage him and identify the noble feat with their organisation.
He also commended the Governor’s foresight for initiating a peace process that has yielded positive results and is being accepted and commended the world over
Rev George Ogurie also assured the Governor of his organisation’s readiness to join hands to consolidate the peace achieved through Agriculture, Education and Skills acquisition.
Mr George also informed the Governor that his organisation will soon visit Zamfara State to conduct a survey on the best way to sustain the peace process.
The courtesy call was attended by the Zamfara State Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe.
