Maryam Ibrahim Dan’azumi, a talented Nigerian Qur’an reciter from Gombe State, has made Nigeria proud after emerging 1st in the Women’s 60 Hizb with Tafsir category at the prestigious 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Qur’an Competition in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
She competed against participants from 133 countries on the international stage at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram), showcasing exceptional mastery of Qur’anic memorisation and Tafsir.
For her outstanding performance, Maryam was awarded 300,000 Saudi Riyals, reported to be approximately ₦120 million.
Her achievement is not only a personal victory but also a proud moment for Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole, demonstrating the remarkable talent and dedication of Nigerian youths in Qur’anic scholarship.
