the Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim K/Mata mentioned this when he was addressing the Executive Secretary of Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, Her Management Staff and other senior Staff who paid him an advocacy visit to his office at Gidan Murtala on Tuesday Morning. Dr. Yusuf appreciates the entourage for making it to the advocacy, he added that healthcare is second of priority after education that this administration is concentrating on.
Earlier, Dr. Rahila also appreciate the Honorable Commissioner accepting and giving the date for the advocacy visit. She continued that the scheme is designed to provide easy healthcare services and reduce our of pocket expenditure to all the residents of Kano.
However, the Executive Secretary added that students were not left out in the scheme as they have their special package where they will pay a token of 5,000 Naira and they will access care in the selected engaged facility. She further solicits the Honourable Commissioner to call on all the Heads of Institutions under his care to embrace the scheme so that their students will not be left out. She added that the Honourable Commissioner of Health has directed all the heads of health institution in the State to let their students be enrolled into the plan as it is not going to incur any additional expenses to the students.
Dr. Yusuf mentioned that thought the administration is thinking towards reducing school fee in some institutions but he directed his management staff to sit and look at the breakdown of the school fees of all the institutions so that they can have a meeting with the heads of these institutions and see the possibilities of starting the enrollment soon even on voluntary basis.
At the end the Executive Secretary KSCHMA Presents a Copy the Law Establishing the Agency and the Concept Notes of the Programme for their management to study carefully.
