As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Nigerian Shippers Council has donated some health equipments to Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital in a colourful occasion took place at the hospital’s premises.
Speaking during the event, the Director General Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Nasiru Alhassan Kabo, extended Kano state government extreme appreciation over the superlative endowment to the paediatric hospital by the Council.
Represented by the Director Admin and General Services of the Board, Alhaji Bashir Ado Gaya, Dr. Kabo said not only government and people of Kano as beneficiaries, anybody with positive designing mind will be happy with the splendid gesture, assuring for judicious use of the items for the benefit of people in the state.
The Director General maintained that since coming on board, the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is seriously concerned about effective health service delivery to all and sundry in the state at any given time.
“This could be justified looking at the tremendous efforts put forward by the Ganduje led administration through provisions of new facilities, upgrading and improving the existing ones as well as equipping them with the most essential requirements”, said Dr. Kabo
He noted that everybody will testify the unflinching strive of the present administration through the Hospitals Management Board’s up and doing almost day and night to ensuring qualitative medical service delivery to the people of Kano state.
He then commended the Nigerian Shippers Council over the outstanding endowment, adding that government of Dr. Ganduje is often welcoming every support being accorded by various governmental and nongovernmental organisations, within and outside the country.
In his speech, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Barrister Hassan Bello, represented by the Director Northwest Zone, Hajiya Karimatu Usman, said the gesture was necessitated by the passion and deep sense of responsibility of the management of the Council and as part of its corporate responsibility to ensure that the needy in the society is supported and empowered.
In her vote of thanks, the Zonal Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Binta Jibrin, expressed her overwhelming pleasure for the gesture as they came at a right time, promising for judicious use of the equipment so as to achieve the set objectives of which they were provided.
The items donated include single motor hospitals beds, washing machines, pressing irons, micro air alternating pressure overlay mattresses and 5.5KVA Honda generator.
