The appointment of Dr. Nasiru Alhassan Kabo as Director General Hospitals Management Board has been described as excellent.
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, when the DG led management staff of the Board to pay him a courtesy visit in his office.
The SSG stated that health sector is very critical in any given society, hence the reason why Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje regards it as one of the fundamental areas his administration will give special consideration to.
“At this moment, innovation is imminent in health sector. With you as DG of the Board, I have confidence that the changes yearning for in this significant area will be put in place. You should therefore work together with management of the Board with open mind,” the SSG stated.
Alhaji Usman Alhaji called on management of the Board to evolve methodologies that will transform unfriendly attitude of some health workers because people are very much complain about it.
On Boards needs, the SSG said that he will do his best to see that state government do something about them, adding that Cabinet office is the coordinating office while MDAs are the implementers of government projects, so there is close working relation between them.
Earlier speaking, the Director General Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Nasiru Alhassan Kabo, said that they were at SSGs office to congratulate him on his reappointment for the second term by Governor Ganduje and to solicit his fatherly advises.
He went further to say that Hospitals Management Board has about 40 health facilities across the 44 local governments under it that supposed to constantly be supervised in order to energize them to perform diligently as government is committed to improving health status of people in the state.
“But, due to shortage of mobility we are facing, regular supervision is not possible. We are appealing to SSG to kindly provide us with enough mobility to carry out this noble task smoothly so as to meet His Excellency’s stance to providing qualitative service delivery to the people of the state,” Dr. Kabo solicited.
He then commended the Governor Ganduje for fantastical performance in health sector, adding that medical doctors across the country are commending kano state government Governor Ganduje for completing Muhammadu Buhari General Hospital and Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu Paediatric Hospital and equipped them with state-of-the-art equipment.
